It’s been a year or so since RIM announced that push APIs had become available to its Alliance Program members, and now it looks like the rest of us are finally able to get in on the action (at least those of us who are BlackBerry devs). Starting today, access comes in two packages: either BlackBerry Push Essentials (the free version) or BlackBerry Push Plus with a number of tiers that reflect different options and price points

Speaking at a MIX10 session about Windows Phone 7 Series architecture this morning, Microsoft’s Istvan Cseri mentioned that the Windows Phone Marketplace — the one and only clearinghouse for apps in WP7S — will be able to remotely revoke licenses. Since devices will only run properly-licensed apps, this effectively means the company will be able to shut down apps remotely — a capability they’d probably invoke if a Marketplace app were to badly misbehave en masse, for example. To put it bluntly, Cseri says that apps simply aren’t in control of their own life cycle; the user controls installation and removal while the Marketplace ensures that the license is valid.

There’s more than just HDTVs on the way from Samsung this year, it’s also picked today to reveal the price and ship dates for its Samsung Apps -equipped Blu-ray HTIB systems (HT-C7530W pictured above and all due in March or April) and HDMI 1.4-equipped 3D passthrough compatible receivers. Even though the cool kids are already on to HDMI 1.4 a , that should be good enough to pass through 3D video and handle audio all in one cable so if you’re planning a whole home theater revamp before Avatar comes home in 3D ( whenever that is ) you’ll probably want to grab one with the feature . Other than the 7.1 channel HW-C770BS for $549 shipping this month, there’s also a $499 HW-C900 model with multi-zone and video upscaling features for $499, though when it will arrive is still TBD.

We’ve had TiVo firmly on deathwatch since 2005 , and although the company’s shares have recently surged with the launch of the TiVo Premiere and another legal victory over Echostar , things are still looking somewhat bleak: the Q4 numbers are in, and everyone’s favorite DVR company just posted a $10.2m loss.

According to a little late night tweet from Palm — and the update screen on our device — the stacked new webOS 1.4 update is making its way out into the world for the company’s Verizon-flavored devices. That’s right, Plussers — video recording (and editing) is just a small download away. So why are you still reading this?

There’s nothing, nothing, we love more than talkative CEOs . And though this may not be a case of some brash smack-talking , we still appreciate Mary Lou Jepsen giving us a fresh update on the development of those delectable Pixel Qi displays

Last we saw Casio’s GPS-equipped EX-10HG it was still in prototype form at CES, but the company was back with it again at PMA this week, and thankfully was a bit more talkative this time.

Despite a few harrying run-ins with some large white tents at Manhattan’s Fashion Week-hosting Bryant Park, we can honestly say we have no idea what’s “in” this year for arcade gaming headgear. Still, even with Konami’s lack of zebra print or a sly celebrity endorsement, we’ve got to hand it to them for this fashionable new ” Metal Gear Arcade ” number. The arcade game is based on Metal Gear Online , but the head gear adds 3D and head-tracking to the experience.
